FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
1. WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE FOR PHOTOSHOOTS?
Right now I have three Canon camera bodies, and work with primarily
all Canon products and accessories, right down to the photo paper
and ink. I have a significant amount tied up into my professional
lighting and studio equipment.
2. DO YOU PROVIDE A MAKEUP
ARTIST, HAIR STYLIST OR WARDROBE?
I provide a makeup artist for location shoots, and leave the hair
and wardrobe up to the model. One major reason for the wardrobe
is that
the model can be free to pick his or her own fashions, as only they
know
what will best suit them for their portfolios.
3. HOW DID YOU GET STARTED
IN ALL OF THIS? DO YOU HAVE FORMAL TRAINING?
I started in photography back in 1987, on my high school yearbook
staff. Ever since then I took courses and workshops, along with
my 2002
enrollment at the New York Institute of Photography in Manhattan.
I
graduated from there and started business on the books soon after
that.
I have a real love for photography; you have to have it to keep
you
going under pressure. Just ask those who have shot a big wedding,
they
will know what I am talking about.
4.
WHAT DO YOU OFFER FOR YOUR WEDDING PACKAGES IN TERMS OF PRICES?
I have a complete gallery with many samples here at the site,
along with customer testimonials and package details/pricing. I
am also
working hand in hand with professional videographers from Mandon
Productions in Middletown NY. If you book both of us for a wedding,
you
are entitled to a free certificate for a Carnival Cruise in which
you
may use for your honeymoon. See the wedding gallery for more details.
5. DO YOU PROVIDE PHONE
NUMBERS OF YOUR CLIENTS FOR REFERENCES?
Due to current "do not call lists" as well as privacy
issues, I do
not release client's personal phone numbers. However, you can see
many
letters received by recent and past clients here at the studio.
You can
also view some of them here at the site in the testimonials gallery.
Many of my models as well have signed their favorite photos, which
are
posted here at the studio.
6. DO YOU HAVE A STAFF?
WHAT ABOUT PROMOTIONS?
Yes I do have a staff. On most location shoots, I have a makeup
artist, video, one assistant, and two lighting techs. We are all
uniformed and professional. On my wedding assignments, I have one
assistant with me and we are both formally dressed in tuxedo wear.
As far as promotions go, right now I am heavily involved with many
events in this area with Gold's Gym, Moroney's Harley Davidson,
K104.7 FM radio station, as well as Torches on the Hudson. (see
events and promotions gallery)
7. CAN I BRING A FRIEND
TO MY PHOTOSHOOT? WHAT ABOUT PETS?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a friend to the shoot as long as he
or she is aware that a model portfolio shoot can last up to 3-4
hours.
You should also be comfortable posing in front of that person as
well.
As far as pets go, we have a cat here at the studio. If you want
photos
taken with your pet, please make sure to "walk" them prior
to coming
inside, as well as keeping a leash on them too. This applies to
family
or children portraits only.
8. DO YOU CHARGE MODELS
OR DO YOU PAY THEM? WHAT ABOUT USE OF THE PHOTOS?
Depending on the photo shoot for the model, and that model's
experience, most of the time newer models pay a one time flat fee
for
their portfolio, photo CD, online placement, as well as their headshots.
Only mainstream talent and hired models for client assignments are
paid for that particular shoot. You are welcome to use the photos,
just be aware that you should always use the photography copyrights.
There are often times when a model release is involved.
9.
WHAT HAPPENS IF A MODEL CANNOT MAKE IT TO AN APPOINTMENT OR DOES
NOT SHOW?
Since there are many details that go into the planning of a model
photo shoot, a model can and will lose any deposits they make for
their
studio time. You may also not be considered for any promotions either.
Unless it’s a life and death situation that you can prove,
we will make
the exception. There are too many models out there competing and
those
that work hard and are punctual will always be used for paid events.
If
the model does not show or call, she or he will not be used for
any work
or shoots.
10. DO YOU PROVIDE TRAVEL
PAY OR ACCOMODATIONS FOR OUT OF TOWN CLIENTS?
Any models who travel here from more than a 3 hour round trip
will be reimbursed for their fuel and tolls at the present state
comptrollers rate. Those that are from a farther distance that need
to
stay overnight will be reimbursed for their hotel accommodations
of up to
$75 (local area rates) You must show proof of your stay and payment
to
receive your reimbursement.
11. WHAT KIND OF PORTRAITS
DO YOU OFFER? CAN I HAVE FAMILY PHOTOS TAKEN?
Right now I am starting to get geared up for the holiday season
with some winter and Christmas backdrops. Please call today to book
your appointment. Yes, you can have up to 5 people in one photo
here at
the studio. Also, you will be allowed to pick as many poses for
your
package (unlike the standard one pose packages many retailers offer)
Additionally, you will get a complimentary photo CD with jpeg images.
See the children's gallery for pricing and information.
12.
WHAT ARE YOUR STUDIO HOURS? WHEN CAN WE CONTACT YOU?
My studio runs by appointment only, therefore dates booked
will be solely yours only, without interruptions or waiting like
you
would have to do at a Doctor's office. You can contact my business
cell
phone 9am-11pm daily at (845) 590-9254.
